Vahon FM has now more power on MW
The test broadcasts of the new Dutch AM radio, Vahon FM, on 1557 kHz are broadcast with a higher power since Wednesday 10th of October. Instead of 20 watts, an output of 400 watts has now been emitted.
This Hague-based Hindu station started test broadcasting on 6th of October. At first there was a 24 hour broadcast with a power of 20 watts. Since 10.10.2012 Vahon FM makes use of a replacement medium wave transmitter of another commercial radio station – Radio Waddenzee. This means that they now can use power up to 400 watts. Vahon FM is waiting for their own final medium wave transmitter, which is currently in stock at the supplier.
In addition to music from the Netherlands and Flanders, the program “Hollands Palet” can be heard on Sunday evenings between 20.00 and 21.00 hours. Listeners of this program are requested to send reception reports. The program, which was some years ago broadcast over Haagstad Radio, is made by Ger Kruger and Wim Zonderland.
