High power MW transmitter launched in Pakistan

Pakistan Information Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and Senator Ismail Buledi inaugurated a 100 KW high power mediumwave transmitter of Radio Pakistan Turbat on 08.02.2012. The transmitter will provide news and entertainment to the people of far flung areas of Balochistan. The station will cover a vast area of Balochistan during the day and can be heard in UAE‚ Iran‚ Oman and other Gulf countries. In daytime the station can cover a radius of 300 km, and triple that during nighttime. The frequency is 981 kHz.
