At the end of March Belgian national radio company VRT turned off three of its four AM transmitters.  Those were the transmitter of Radio 2 in Wavre (540 kHz, 150 kW), Radio 2 in Kuurne (1188 kHz, 5 kW) and Radio Flanders International in Wolvertem (1512 kHz, 600 kW). The transmitter in Wolvertem (927 kHz, 300 kW) remains in operation.  By eliminating the transmitters VRT saves on maintenance and energy.
