QSL Harvesting in DX Paradise – Canada
Here’s some recent Canadian verifications received by Arnstein Bue, Norway. Information culled from his blog “DX Paradise“.
570 CFCB Corner Brook NL
Richard King sent me an email, very early in the morning at his place, to confirm my 12 September 2004 (Kalvøya) reception of this 1000 watts station. I heard them with a “CFBC” identification at 02.05 their local time, so it must have been a special occasion.
610 CHNL Kamloops BC
Radio NL 610 AM was on my list before going to the KONG17 DXped last October, and we got reports from Finland during KONG17 that this station was heard there. Last Saturday I found an “CHNL” ID on one of my recordings, and today I got a short email from Chief Engineer Dave Coulter entitled “Reception verification”.
800 CHRC Québec QC
CHRC 800 was heard at home in December 1997 – there was fantastic conditions towards North America between Christmas and New Year’s Eve that year, and lots of nice stations were heard on my former 70-meter-long backlobe antenna. Thanks a lot to Jocelyn Ruel (VE2GHR) for a lovely email in French, confirming my reception.
1650 CJRS Montreal QC
Robert Levy just confirmed my January 4 (Lista) reception of Radio Shalom Montréal with an email in French. Their web site is http://www.radio-shalom.ca/
The call CJRS was formerly used by the 1510 AM Radiomutuel staton in Sherbrooke, which closed down together with five other Quebec stations on 30 September 1994 due to the merger between Radiomutuel and Télémédia. See the story at Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiom%C3%A9dia
