French language children’s radio in Canada on 1670 AM

Radio Enfant CJEU is a new mediumwave station broadcasting on 1670 kHz with a power of 1 kilowatt. The French-speaking station aims to involve children and youth of 5-18 years of age in radio broadcasting. CJEU is operated by Fondation Radio Enfant and the Children’s Radio Workshop, which have organized radio workshops in more than 250 schools. The station has been reportedly heard sporadically in Canada in late March. The station was testing in late March. It hasn’t officially signed on yet. For years it has been a low powered FM station, currently operating at 101.9 fm with 30 watts.

This station is now (suddenly) received quite well at night in Western NY state.
