550 KOAC Corvallis OR 550. I heard KOAC for the first time several years ago, but they wouldn’t respond to my reports at the time. This autumn it appears that KOAC has got a more consistent signal across the Pole (and maybe within their coverage area too) as they’ve been quite a regular on 550. VP of Engineering Don McKay kindly confirmed my October 16 reception today.
(Arctic DX -blog)

550 KUZZ Bakersfield CA. Evan Bridwell, Program Director of KUZZ AM, confirmed my reception of KUZZ during my stay in San Diego. He used to be a DXer so always enjoy rports from afar. Unfortunately, KUZZ does not have a QSL, thus he promised to send me a bumper sticker.
(Radio World)

560 CFOS Owen Sound ON. Another very nice logging on AND1 was CFOS 560. They had a good signal on October 24th! Donna Henry, Air Personality verified my report with a e-mail. 24th October was very good to Ontario and most of (if not all!) the remaining ON stations on AM was heard.
(Ole’s DX-blog)

KTMT Ashland OR 580 was one of the nice low-frequency North Americans we picked up at the KONG17 DXpedition, and during dinner tonight I received a short email from Devin Harpole, Program Director – KTMT-AM, where he confirmed my reception. This station has a Spanish format and is named Radio LAZER.
(Arnstein Bue / DX Paradise)

580 WKTY La Crosse WI. Email from Scott Robert Shaw, WKTY’s Program Director, confirmed my October 16 reception of WKTY. I only heard it a few seconds, though enough for an identification. WKTY is co-owned with WIZM 1410, a much more commonly heard station than WKTY although the latter has been heard a few times this autumn. Receiver: Icom IC-746Pro.
(Arctic DX -blog)

590 KUGN Eugene OR. KUGN was heard on at least three occasions during KONG17 – I heard them on Oct 21 when conditions weren’t very good. KHAR Anchorage was unusally weak this morning though, so KUGN could dominate a few minutes. General Sales Manager Liz Halley confirmed my reception with a most friendly email this morning. KUGN is new for me, heard on an IC-746Pro.

650 KFAR Fairbanks AK. Some stations respond quickly. Some take time. KFAR took 33 years… Admittedly I haven’t drowned their mail boxes or email boxes with reports over that period, but quite a few reports have been sent. Today PD Steve Floyd responded to a report with an excellent quality recording. So KFAR came home at last.
(Arctic DX -blog)

He writes: ‘We are running 5,000 watts days, but just 990 watts nights – and have been impacted by WYLL in Chicago going from 5,000 watts to 50,000 watts nights. They are supposed to be directional north from southwest of Chicago, but there is a lobe coming down here which is killing our nighttime signal in the northern parts of our market. Surprising that we bounced into your part of the world.’ Surprising? Yes! DX-ing is a hobby full of surprises. That is why the hobby is so exciting. By the way, WDJO is my second verified Kentucky station. Except from WHAS-840, Kentucky is a quite difficult state DX-wise in our part of the world. So, thank you, Dusty!
