Iran launched new radio network
A new radio network, Radio Tejarat (Trade Radio) was launched in Iran in October on the sidelines of National Exports Day in the presence of First VP Parviz Davudi and Commerce Minister Mas’ud Mirkazemi.The network will broadcast four hours of live programming per day. This will be increased to 12 hours in the future. Abdolkarim Khayyami, Radio Tejarat manager, said the channel aims to disseminate information on economic issues. This radio presents complete and full-detail information to exporters.
The Tejarat radio network will begin operations under the name “SABA”. SABA is the acronym for ‘Voice of Iran’s Commerce’, ‘Seday-e Bazargani-e Iran‘.
Iran’s Ma’aref Radio to launch English service
The Manager of Iran’s Ma’aref Radio has announced that it is to commence the transmission of programs in the English language in the near future. Mr. Mohammad Mohammadzadeh said that the English language department of the radio station will air a two-hour program in English every day, that will be relayed to the continents of Europe and America via satellite. He noted that the programs will mainly include: translated passages from the Holy Quran and explanations of Quranic concepts, questions and answers on Islamic matters, news concerning the world of Islam, and interviews with experts on religious education.
With regards to the reasons for launching an English language service, he remarked, ‘The world is facing a spiritual crisis, since today’s man-made cultures do not give peace of mind, whereas Islam is able to bring tranquility to mankind. Ma’aref Radio in English can be of great benefit. The station is also planning to make programs in Arabic and Spanish.’
