Fire at Deutschlandradio Kultur, Berlin

A fire at the shortwave transmission site of Deutschlandradio Kultur on 16th of July forced to close down the transmitter. It has been transmitting on 6005 kHz (earlier known as RIAS Berlin). To repair the transmitter site would cost about 100.000 euros, so it’s possible that it has been silenced for good.
