New FM station launched in Kenya

Kenyan private African Broadcasting Corporation, has in collaboration with an Italian company, established a radio station to broadcast programmes in the local Giriama dialect as well as in Kiswahili, English and Italian, from Kenya’s coastal region.
The “103.3 Sauti ya Pwani FM,” which has already started trial transmission, would be formally launched in the tourist resort town of Malindi in July, according to one of the directors, Marco Luciani. It is the first private broadcasting venture in Malindi, a renowned tourist destination.
