The medium wave transmitter in Heusweiler, Germany is to be remodeled. Saarländischer Rundfunk uses the transmitter on 1422 kHz. The presently used 2 x 600 kW -installation is to be changed to DRM -compatible 2 x 200 kW -installation. The reserve system is changed, too. The new one includes a 100 kW PDM-transmitter and a separate auxiliary antenna. This antenna will be used on daytime by transmitter on 1179 kHz that broadcasts the program “Antenne Saar”, with the power of 10kW.
