100%NL denied to use 1224 kHz

The Radio Communications Agency Netherlands has rejected an application by commercial broadcaster 100%NL to use 1224 kHz as a ‘gap filler’ in the same way that Radio 538 has mediumwave gap filler on 891 kHz in Limburg. 100%NL has good FM coverage across the country, with the exception of the area round Zwolle. The plan was to use 1224 kHz with low power to serve this area, from a transmitter site that would be readily available.
