After 21 years, the members of Wolverhampton Community Radio Training (WCRT) have launched Wolverhampton’s first Radio station specifically for the communities of the city – WCR FM. Finally WCR FM is on air to bring you the city’s first full time 24/7 community access radio station, licenced by Ofcom (the communications regulator). Over the course of 21 Years, the Wolverhampton Community Radio Association (WCRA 1986-1996) and now Wolverhampton Community Radio Training (WCRT 1997-Present) have been pushing for a community radio station for Wolverhampton. To begin with, as we find our feet in this brave new world (!) we will be building up our programmes. Keep watching the website and listening for more information.
You might already know about WCR from our college radio station – 1350 WCR AM. A great number of familiar faces and voices from WCR AM will be making their way across to WCR FM, and the programmes we put together will be bigger and better!
On 101.8 FM, this is WCR FM – “The Voice Of Wolverhampton”.
