WTMM 1300 The Team turns into Eve 1300
Regent Communications has launched an Albany, N.Y., talk station aimed at women.´The new WEEV, or EVE 1300 AM, is an affiliate of Greenstone Media, the network founded by Gloria Steinem, Jane Fonda and others. “It’s not political,” said Robert Ausfeld, vice president and general manager of Albany-area operations for Covington-based Regent. “It’s all female talk, how to bring up kids and so on. It will be something a little different for the market.” Ausfeld expects the station to appeal to women ages 20 and over who enjoy such shows as Oprah and Ellen Degeneres. He said company research revealed an interest in such programming locally. WEEV formerly was WTMM, a sports station better known as The Team. The Team has moved to 104.5 FM.
