First Indian FM station launched in Bahrain
The first-ever Indian language FM radio station has been launched in the kingdom of Bahrain. The Information Ministry of Bahrain has granted a licence to Strategic Publicity & Advertising Company (SPAC) to run an Indian language FM channel in the kingdom.
Voice FM 104.2 will broadcast 60% of its programmes in Malayalam, 30% in Hindi and 10% in Tamil, P Unnikrishnan, chairman of SPAC said. “We will start with a two-hour show, and Voice FM will become a 24-hour channel before November 15,” he was quoted as saying in a local newspaper.
