AIR station updates

According to information received from All India Radio, 3 new MW stations in Kashmir have began transmitting as of 1. September 2006. There’s a 200 kW transmitter in Kargil on 684 kHz and two relay transmitter of lower power in Tiesuru and Drass. There will be several transmitter changes in Jammu and Kashmir in the near future. For example, the power of the Srinagar MW transmitter on 1116 kHz will be increaded from 200 to 300 kW.

AIR Kota is testing since 4th of September it’s new 20 kW AM -transmitter on the new frequency of 1413 kHz. The station will be officially inaugurated on the 2th of October 2006, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. It replaces the old 1 kW transmitter on 1584 kHz.
