Radio 24 FM Radio expanding in Ukraine

Radio 24 FM continues the development of it’s Ukrainian regional centers.
- In the evening of January 19 Radio 24 began broadcasting in Sebastopol on the frequency of 87.7 MHz. Before that, this frequency carried programs of NRJ. In the end of last year, the National Council amended the license of NRJ. Earlier NRJ broadcast in 2 cities: Kiev and Sevastopol. in December 28th the station stopped broadcasting in Kiev on 104.6 MHz, but the broadcasts in Sevastopol contunued until January 19. Currently, radio station NRJ does not exist anymore in Ukraine.
- On February 14th, Radio 24 laubched in Kharkov on 100.5 MHz, ex- Radio Next, ex- Radio Alla.
- On March 13th the station began broadcasting in Lugansk on 102.3 MHz, replacing the local Radio Garnogo Nastroyu. It broadcasts the network program of Radio 24, no local ads.
- On March 15 Radio 24 started in Odessa. Broadcasting frequency is 91.4 MHz, RDS: “RADIO 24 / 91.4 FM”.

Recent changes on the Ukrainian FM Band

- January 3rd, Radio Melodya left the FM-space in Chernigov, where it was heard on 101.3 MHz, now the frequency is occupied by Radio MFM.
- January 6th, Radio Melodya stopped broadcasting in Sumakh on frequency 105.1 MHz, now the frequency is occupied by Radio MFM
- February 14th, in Mariupol, Avtoradio is now broadcasting on 104.0 MHz, which previously was occupied by Europa Plus Mariupol.
- February 29th, in Kovel, Volyn region, metropolitan network station Radio Stilnoe Peper FM began broadcasting on 102.7 MHz
- March 1st, in Dnipropetrovsk Radio Stilnoe Peper FM began broadcasting on 90.9 MHz. The frequency was previously occupied by Radio MFM.
- New FM station in Chernigov since March 16th: Radio ROKS on 107,7 MHz, format classic rock from 70s and 80s
- New radio station in Simferopol since March 28: Klassik Radio on 107.3 MHz, format of the new station is a retro-music from 70s, 80s and 90s. Ad blocks on the Klassik Radio at the 18th and 47th minutes. The frequency was previously occupied by Europa Plus
- Change in the frequency of 103.2 MHz in Mariupol: now Europa Plus Ukraine instead of Radio Next.

Radio Next and Europa Plus took over Radio Alla in Ukraine

Since January 31st, Ukraine stopped broadcasting Radio Alla. Home studio of the radio station now broadcasts under name Radio Next. The format remained unchanged – Russian-language pop music from the music library of Radio Alla.

Radio Next  programs can be heard in the following locations:

- Kiev – 99.4 MHz;
- Dnepropetrovsk – 88.1 MHz;
- Kremenchug – 103.5 MHz;
- Odessa – 91.4 MHz;
- Perepeski – 107.5 MHz;
- Theodosia – 106.9 MHz;

The other frequencies of “Alla” were taken over by Europa Plus Ukraine:

Vinnitsa – 99.3 MHz;
Krivoy Rog – 103.2 MHz;
Lvov – 103.9 MHz;
Mariupol – 103.2 MHz;
Nikolaev – 100.1 MHz;
Pavlograd – 100.9 MHz;
Sevastopol – 100.8 MHz;
Kherson – 99.0 MHz;
Cherkassy – 101.6 MHz.

New cities in the Super Radio network in Ukraine

Super Radio continues to expand its network.
- February 8, Super Radio launched in the city of Uman, Cherkasy region (91.5 MHz)
- February 9 in Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region (104.5 MHz)
- February 9 in Ulyanovka, Kirovohrad region (103.1 MHz)
- February 10 in Izmail, Odessa region (92.2 MHz)
- February 25 in Kerch, Autonomous Republic of Crimea(104.8 MHz)
- in Feodosia, Autonomous Republic of Crimea (102.7 MHz)
- in Truskavets Lviv region (100.6 MHz)

Radio Melody returns in Ukraine

Radio Melodiya has returned in the radio broadcasting of Ukraine. This radio station broadcasts on the frequencies of the former network Radio Dacha, which not so long ago was acquired by the Ukrainian media holding company”TAURUS Media Workers”. Radio Melodiya ceased to exist in the autumn of 2011. Then, after the loss of the fundamental frequencies, which in 2010 went to Super Radio, the remnants of the network “Melodiya” were combined with a network of Stilnoe Radio Peper FM.

Radio Stolitsa in Minsk, Belarus, now on the frequency 105,1 FM

Belarusian Radio “Radio Stolitsa” started broadcasting in Minsk on the FM-frequency of 105.1 MHz. Previously, the radio could only be received on UKW – 72.89 FM, and online. Radio Stolitsa is broadcasting 20 hours a day: from 06:00 to 02:00. Since its birth – September 21, 1998 – it has followed the principle “Radio Stolitsa – our radio”. In the future, the radio station plans to extend broadcasting on the FM-band around the clock.

Serbian radio update

- Focus Radio can now be heard in the whole country, on the former frequencies of the illegal broadcaster Radio Balkan.

- From the 7th March, on the frequency of 102.2 MHz, listeners in Belgrade can now listen to Gradski Radio. The frequency was in previous years occupied by MFM Radio. Gradski Radio is now part of the broadcast company Radio S, playing pop and pop-rock music from the 80′s and 90′s, mixed with some latest hits. Live at the www.gradskiradio.rs.

Polish FM update

- On Wednesday, 25 April. RMF Classic Radio started broadcasting in Kielce. The signal is emitted from the chimney of the local EC on the frequency 99.0 MHz. Power is 1.0 kW.  RMF Classic will soon  start transmissions also in Gdynia on 107.1 MHz,  Opole on 98.2 MHz, Zielona Gora on 89.0 MHz and Olsztyn on 100.9 MHz

- Radio El,Elblag 94.1 FM, was officially launched in June 1992 and began it’s broadcast with the famous Qoueen hit song – Radio Ga Ga. After nearly twenty years, it now has been ceased to exist and the last song you could hear was the same with which it all began. The station and the frequemcy was taken over by Radio ESKA.

- On Saturday, April 21. 6:00 – almost exactly five years after it started full programming – Gorzów Radio RMG changed its name to Radio Gorzow. Broadcast parameters and schedule did not change – you can still listen to the station at a frequency of 95.6 MHz.

UK’s Ofcom awards new community radio licences

Ofcom has announced the award of new community radio licences. Community radio services are provided on a not-for-profit basis focusing on the delivery of specific social benefits to a particular geographical community or a community of interest. The new awards mean that over 250 community radio licences have been awarded, with 198 stations currently on air serving particular community needs.
Ofcom has awarded community radio licences to:

Penwith Radio (Penzance, Cornwall)
Redruth Radio (Redruth, Cornwall)
Totnes FM (Totnes, Devon)
Bay FM Radio, Exmouth, Devon

Exmouth’s Bay FM Radio hopes to be broadcasting full-time by Christmas, but it will be on air for two weeks from May 28 to cover the Exmouth Festival on 107.9 Mhz.
