Voice of Shangri-La
Yunnan PBS has many years been operating it’s ‘Foreign Service’ on 6035 kHz. In October 2007 the station call changed to “Voice of Shangri-La”. The station currently beams out two broadcasts in Vietnamese and Chinese languages with transmitting power of 50 kW. Two antennas have effective coverage of Vietnam, Laos, Burma and Thailand. Signals also reach West Asia, Asia Pacific, Europe and America. The station broadcasts five hours a day. The station’s website is at http://www.ynradio.net/guoji/.
Yunnan PBS Minority Language Service
On the 1st of May 2010 this special station of Yunnan PBS moved from 6937 kHz to 7210 kHz. The station has it’s home page at: http://www.ynradio.com/minzu/. The medium frequency 1242 kHz, formerly used by the Minority Service, is now occupied by Yunnan PBS Rural Radio, home page at http://www.ynradio.com/nongcun/.
